13 Assassins

Takashi Miike is in post-production of a remake of 13 Assassins, a Japanese movie originally released in 1963 and directed by Eiichi Kudo. The movie takes place in the Shogun era and is a pretty typical swordsman flick. Here is a trailer of the original. Looking forward to the remake.

Tantei Monogatari

English title is “Detective Story” – another film by Takashi Miike, this one is somewhat newer. Has a bit of a noir feel to it. Gruesome while slapsticky. An odd one.
